Bruce Springsteen on letting his music do the talking.
Bruce - Peter James Carlin
I don’t think people come to music for political advice. They come to be touched and moved and inspired, and if you’ve written about things as a part of what you’re doing - and you do it well - then you’re moving and inspiring them with those things. But people aren’t coming on an informational basis. I was attracted to Dylan because he sounded like he was telling the truth. I didn’t sit there with a lyric sheet. It was just in the way it sounded.
Look, let’s give it up. Let’s just lay around and make love and take walks and talk a little. Let’s drive down and look at the ocean. It’s only 45 minutes. Let’s play games in the arcades. Let’s go to the races, the Art Museum, the boxing matches. Let’s have friends. Let’s laugh. This kind of life like everybody else’s kind of life: it’s killing us.
